Never in my life did I ever expect to see a coin operated version of a ping pong table. But now the people at Digital Centre have done the impossible, you can now pay to play ping pong. But not just any ping pong game, we are talking Ping Pong Kombat people. Stand up and notice the spelling of Kombat....these guys are serious.
Now for $3 you get 2 paddles, 2 ping pong balls, and the metal net lowers down to a more playable level for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds. After that $2 will get you more time. And lost balls will cost you $1. Same rules for ping pong apply or in our case, we were just trying to hit each other for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes the metal net raises up about 2-3 feet higher keeping people from playing (at least that is their hope) until more money is inserted.
Now based on silly graphics on the sides of the machine and the fact someone thought this was worth $3 to play. The makers of this game (and the arcade who got it) really need to be smacked with the paddles from this game. Along with my friend and I who did pay the $3 to play this game.
But, the fact you get to keep the paddles for as long as they last. And the fact someone wrote PingPong Kombat on the handle (with a label maker) is kinda cool, just remember...if you do the math the people who made this game think the paddles are only worth 25 cents a piece.
Not too impressed with it, nothing that says "Hey I'm worth spending another $2" considering that one can play a more difficult version of ping pong Kombat with the net raised for free.
Besides...not like anyone else there was in line to play.
On a scale of 1-10...this is given a 3 based only on the fact I was given a free paddle.
